Standstill

Week 6: 14-20 August

I began this week by picking up an unopened second-hand screen printing kit from Facebook marketplace which included the following materials:

  • six colours of fabric paint

  • a screen

  • a squeegee

Since I have yet to hear back from any of the businesses I have emailed, I need to start being proactive about completing this screenprinting process from start to finish, by myself.
From here I am still looking for second-hand screens as they are much cheaper than new ones and am looking at purchasing a kit containing emulsion, sensitiser, and remover from Amazon or Spotlight.

By the end of the week, I have not made much progress in this project and it’s been mostly untouched since Monday. My unanswered emails have left me feeling a bit dejected about this project and therefore I’m not wanting to work on it. However, time will not stop for me so I must persist! Next week I plan to get right into the AR process. I feel as though I am putting it off because it seems difficult and I don’t know how to do it and am therefore avoiding it. I also think I need to start looking into the style of photos or videos I want to be taking to promote my shirts, and I’m hoping going into research on this will spark my creativity and positivity for this project.
